The Roadrunner Chapter of the BMW Car Club of America was officially incorporated in 1987. It is a not-for-profit volunteer organization. It serves BMW enthusiasts throughout central and northern Arizona, including Yuma, Flagstaff, and Prescott as well as the Valley of the Sun, where Phoenix and Scottsdale are the largest cities. The Chapter is run by a four-member executive board assisted by a larger board of 6 to 12 members.
We host a variety of educational, social, driving, and charity events throughout the year. Social and educational events provide a venue for members to share information, stories, and memories related to BMW automobiles. Driving events help improve driving skills and allow us to admire the magnificent desert and mountain roads and scenery here in Arizona.
Each month we hold breakfasts (or coffee meets) and dinners. Driving tours are held most months—in the valley in winter and in the mountains in summer and many of these are to fascinating out-of-the-way locations.
Our marquee event is surely our overnight trip to Alpine in eastern Arizona. Our stay in Alpine facilitates our Devil’s Highway run along the road that was originally designated Highway 666. It includes 90 miles of winding, twisty roads that can challenge even the most experienced driver!
